CO-OPERATIVE FOOD STORES TO STOCK BAYTOWN SMUGGLER’S BEER

Baytown, the Robin Hood’s Bay producer of ‘Smuggler’s Beer’, is celebrating after clinching a deal to supply its bottled beers to Co-operative Food stores across North and East Yorkshire.

Baytown’s Smuggler’s Beer is now in store at Whitby, Loftus, Sleights, Bridlington and Norton (near Stockton).

The range consists of bitter, strong bitter, porter, cider and lager. All drinks are available in 500ml bottles and are named to commemorate the key characters of 18th century smuggling times.

Baytown Bitter at 4%abv is named after the 18th century locals’ name for Robin Hood’s Bay. Smuggler’s Haul is a 6% strong bitter with Squire’s Connivance a 5% Porter. Revenue’s Revenge is a 4.2% premium lager and feminine wiles are celebrated with Petticoat’s Deceit a 4% premium cider.

Smuggler George Colson of Baytown says: “Since we launched in early March the range has gone down extremely well with the public. We are delighted that the Co-operative is supporting us by stocking all five products.”
